Prosthetic Complications

November 15-16, 2024

This two-day intensive course provides one of the most comprehensive overviews of prosthetic complications available in our profession today.  This is a rare opportunity to attend a specialized program specifically designed to address the complexities and challenges of conventional and implant prosthetic treatment.

Day One will focus on Conventional Prosthetic (Restorative) Dentistry, covering critical topics such as optimal restorative materials, advanced crown/veneer preparation techniques, state-of-the-art intraoral scanning, cementation protocols, in-office milling, esthetic dentistry and more.

Day Two will be dedicated to Implant Prosthetics, addressing essential aspects such as prevention of technical and biological complications, prosthesis repair, advanced prosthetic design, intraoperative complications, overdenture troubleshooting, full-arch prosthetic solutions, and more.

This course will be led by four highly esteemed experts in our field: Dr. Randolph Resnik, an internationally recognized prosthodontist and implantologist; Dr. Gordon Christensen, a prosthodontist with over 50 years of distinguished experience; Dr. John Nosti, a leading authority in esthetic dentistry; and Dr. Jon Suzuki, a globally renowned periodontist.

This live-patient, hands-on course provides clinicians with a unique opportunity to perform a variety of surgical procedures on pre-selected patients, under the direct supervision of the expert faculty from the Resnik Implant Institute. Participants can select from a broad range of surgical options, with the Institute ensuring appropriate patient recruitment. The course begins with a comprehensive treatment planning session, followed by the execution of the full surgical procedure under sedation. Clinicians will also have the opportunity to assist with additional cases, enhancing their clinical expertise. A wide array of advanced techniques will be employed, including both guided and freehand implant placement, the application of bone growth factors, and various bone augmentation methods using different membrane materials.

 

Live Patient Surgical Procedures (10 hours):

  1. Extraction (Routine or Complex)
  2. Socket Grafting Techniques (4 and 5-wall Extraction Sockets)
  3. Implant Placement (Simple to Complex)
  4. Full-Arch Implant Placement (Guided or Free Hand)

Requirement: Completion of the procedure curriculum (Module 1, 2, or 3) is mandatory before performing the specific surgical procedure.

Bi-weekly via Zoom: Starting January 15, 2025

The Resnik Grand Rounds will feature bi-weekly, recorded online sessions aimed at providing in-depth insights into treatment planning in dental implantology. Each session will focus on a specific topic, whether current or controversial, such as the effects of certain medications, managing complex medical conditions, or exploring innovative solutions to common challenges in implant dentistry.

Participants will have the opportunity to present or evaluate CBCT cases from clinicians nationwide, covering a variety of interesting and complex scenarios. These sessions are structured to promote collaborative learning while offering practical knowledge that can be applied directly to clinical practice.

For those who cannot attend the live sessions, all content will be recorded and added to an online library, ensuring both flexibility and access to these valuable learning resources. This format allows participants to review and gain a comprehensive understanding of diverse approaches to treatment planning at their own pace.
